Where Can I Find The Best Dog Friendly Sunflower Fields In Georgia To Take Photos?
Each individual Georgia farm has their own schedule for when they plant and grow their sunflowers throughout summer. You will need to check their website or social media page for updates on their sunflower fields. I have been to each of the farms I am recommending. Some had short sunflowers and some taller. Some years the sunflowers are absolutely beautiful and other times they have been lackluster. You never know what you are going to get! These local farms are dog friendly but require you keep your dog on a leash and clean up after your dog (duh!)
Fausett Farms

Fausett Farms is a family owned farm since 1858 in North Georgia. Although they started as a poultry farm, they now offer 30 + acres of beautiful sunflowers. Their current season is due to open in September. They charge an entrance fee of $5 per person and $35 for professional photographers that are charging their clients.
Anderson Sunflower Farm

The Anderson Sunflower Farm has become very popular over the years. They plant their seeds in May and it takes about 69 days to fully bloom. They charge $20 per car and you can cut your own sunflowers for a fee of $1 per sunflower. In 2021, they did not have a good crop of sunflowers and had to stay closed.
Prospect Farm
Address: 1839 Prospect Rd, Lawrenceville GA 30043
Prospect Farm is a 21 acre family owned farm that offers many different styles of photography backdrops from flower fields to Christmas photoshoots. They currently have sunflower fields growing and will continue through the rest of summer. For cost, please reach out to the farm directly.
When Do Sunflowers Bloom In Georgia?
The tall sunflowers with a single flower grow in late summer and only last two to three weeks. You have to be ready to do your photoshoot as soon as they start blooming or you may miss your chance! The later you wait the more likely the sunflowers will be destroyed by people walking and taking photos among them.
What Is The Cost Of A Photoshoot In A Sunflower Field?
The cost of a photoshoot in a sunflower field varies from farm to farm. Fausett Farm charges by the person while the Anderson Farm charges by the car. All of the farms have an extra charge for professional photographers who are taking photos for clients. Remember, these are local family farms that put great effort into growing the best sunflowers each year.
Tips For The Best Photoshoot In A Sunflower Field.
Before you head out to the sunflower field in Georgia, read these tips so that you are prepared to get the best photos:
- With sunflowers comes bugs, especially bees! There will be hundreds (maybe more!) of bees so be careful! I recommend putting on bug spray (although this will not help you with the bees.)
- Bring props to make your photos more fun such as a wagon to pull your dog or children. A basket to carry the sunflowers or a hat to hold or wear as a prop.
- You will need to carry your smaller dog to get the best photos. So bring an extra pair of hands.
- Bring a chair for larger dogs that may need a leg up among the tall sunflowers.
- Have fun and get creative! Looking away from the camera always makes a great shot.
- It’s more than likely going to be hot so bring water and dress accordingly.
Sunflower Field Outfit Ideas For Dogs And Dog Moms

- A fun flowing summer dress in any color makes a great aesthetically pleasing shot.
- Wear a hat or hold it as a prop.
- Bring along a straw bag or tote and fill it with flowers.
