What drew me to Sedona was the magnificent photos of the red rock formations. I’ve never seen anything like it before! While driving through Sedona, you will want to pull over at many places to enjoy the view. With red rocks as the back drop, many places in Sedona can become an Instagram worthy photo. Below you’ll find the best places that I found in Sedona to take photos! My biggest advice is to go to these places during golden hour when the sun isn’t too bright. I used my iPhone and DSLR Nikon D3400 with a 24-70mm lens to take most of my photos.
Bonus: All these spots are dog-friendly so bring your dog along for the adventure!

The Best Places To Take Instagrammable Photos In Sedona
Devil’s Bridge
The bridge at the end of the trail is a must! There will most likely be a long line to walk out on the bridge and take photos. We started by 630 am on a Sunday and had to wait 30minutes to have our turn on the bridge. It is absolutely worth the wait! The unwritten rule is that you take the photos of the person in front of you and the person behind you will take photos for you. Most people are patient and you may even witness a proposal (or two!). There are many other spots along the trail that have Instagram worthy views. I took my dog in a backpack onto the bridge so he was always safe.
Cathedral Rock
The Cathedral Rock trail is on the difficult side but you can get great photos everywhere from the base to top of the trail. The red rock formations make a great back drop for photos. If you have time, I recommend walking the Templeton Trail which is much easier than climbing up Cathedral Rock. On the Templeton trail, you will see more of the red rock formations that make up Cathedral Rock along with a scenic stream you can walk across in some areas.
Bell Rock
The panoramic views on the Bell Rock Loop Trail are great for photos! For all the trails in Sedona, I recommend downloading the All Trails App for information on the length of the trail, difficulty and much more.
Middle of Nowhere!
This photo is proof that you can literally take an amazing photograph anywhere on your drive through Sedona. I couldn’t tell you exactly where this was taken other than it was in Navajo Nation on our way to the Grand Canyon. We simply picked a spot with red rock formations in the background and made sure it was safe to run out in the middle of the road. It took 5 minutes to get this shot and is easily my favorite photo from Sedona!
Take A Day Trip From Sedona To The Grand Canyon + Horseshoe Bend
Grand Canyon Rim Trail
The views at Grand Canyon National Park are incredibly unique and worth the drive! As you drive along the Grand Canyon, you can make many stops to see the view and take photos. I also recommend walking the Grand Canyon Rim Trail for great photo-ops. You don’t need to walk or bike the whole 12miles to get Instagram worthy photos.
Horseshoe Bend Lookout
I recommend catching the sunset at Horseshoe Bend because it’s stunning! The trail ends at the lookout and that is where you will see the classic U-shaped bend that you have probably seen all over Instagram. It does get busy there so make sure to secure a great spot to wait for the sun to set.
