How To Host A Galentine’s Day Flower Arranging Brunch Party
The idea for a flower arranging party came across my explore page on social media last year and I immediately knew I would love to do it with my dog mom friends in Atlanta.
We met on Instagram 4 years ago! And have managed to stay friends in group chats and IRL with and without our dogs. Fast forward to this year and we still didn’t make the flower arranging party happen due to our busy lives of jobs, travel, dogs and kids.
With Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day approaching, flower arranging was a great way to celebrate our love for our gals!
I had no intention of making the party into blog posts but the Galentine’s Day flower arranging brunch was a lot of fun! From the fun decor, beautiful flower arrangements, and good friendships, hosting a Galentine’s Day brunch to make your own flower arrangements is a great way to celebrate.
You don’t need to be a professional florist to have a great time. So grab your favorite gal pals for some quality time together and make this Galentine’s the best day of the year!
Why Host A Galentine’s Day Flower Arranging Brunch Party?
Galentine’s day is officially celebrated every February 13th. Although, I think we can and should celebrate our love for our lady friends any time of year.
The idea for Galentine’s day came from Parks and Recreation, when the character Leslie Knope throws a Galentine’s Day party for her girlfriends, a total made-up holiday.
Since then, Galentine’s day has gained popularity and is celebrated worldwide. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a galentine’s brunch and floral arrangements. The best part is everyone goes home with beautiful bouquets.
It’s true, you can host a flower arrangement party any time of year. Or many times a year to celebrate a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, Mother’s Day or any special occasion. As you’ll have different seasonal flowers throughout the year.
Galentine’s Day Flower Arranging Brunch Party Food Ideas
To make it an stress-free Galentine’s day brunch, I recommend breakfast style charcuterie board served on a buffet table or kitchen counter. In my opinion, breakfast is best meal of the day. And who doesn’t love a waffle bar.
Add on a mimosa bar on a bar cart for a boozy brunch.
Food Ideas for Galentines brunch:
- Fresh fruit (cut the fresh berries into heart shapes)
- Waffle Bar with toppings (chocolate chips, nuts)
- Bacon
- Eggs
- Sweet Treats (pastries, coffee cakes)
A dessert bar makes a perfect addition:
- Cupcakes
- Candy & Chocolates (Trader Joe’s has a great Valentine’s Day candy selection)
Decorating For A Galentine’s Day Flower Arranging Party
Decorating for a party is the fun part but can easily get overwhelming and pricy. I recommend starting with a color palette on brand to Valentine’s Day- red, pink, and white.
Pinterest is always my go-to for ideas. Create a mood board and list prior to shopping to stay within budget.
I used heart balloons as a backdrop for the party and to take photos.
The table scape included flowers and pink candles on top of brown packing paper that was painted with white xoxo’s along with place settings that had heart-shaped glasses.
Rachel from Botanical Bones sent Valentines themed treat minis for all the dog moms.
My mom had gifted me an Instax Mini camera years ago that I never used. This party was the best excuse to use it.
All the dog moms enjoyed taking pictures- we did all meet on social media! And they all got a Polaroid as a small gift and reminder.
Decor ideas for Galentine’s party:
- Heart balloon wall for backdrop ($10)

- Brown packing or butcher paper (made clean up easy as well)

Where To Buy Flowers In Bulk
Purchasing flowers can get expensive. Especially if you get it from a floral shop, flower market or professional florists.
A great way to keep cost down is checking your local Trader Joes or local grocery store for great options as many local florist shop their themselves.
You’ll need a wide variety of main blooms, filler flowers and greenery for your flower party.
I asked each dog mom to bring a favorite flower to serve as their main flower. And some of the dog moms pitched in to get greenery and filler flowers. Next time, I would have more neutral white flowers that go well with all types of arrangements.
