Three-Ingredient Easy Allergy Gummy Recipe For Dogs
Did you know 60 to 70% of dogs suffer from some form of allergies? Environmental, flea, and food allergies are the most common types of allergies in dogs. And it’s only on the rise.
My dog Teddy developed environmental allergies later in life, at about 7 years old, that only occur during allergy season. His allergies presented as excessive scratching to the point of breaking skin. Our vet recommended Cytopoint, a monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-31, a cytokine that is key in triggering itch and inflammation in dogs with allergic dermatitis.
Although the injection worked fast to alleviate his symptoms, I looked for a more natural alternative to reduce his itching.
So what can you do if your dog is one of the many who suffer from allergies and excessive itching?
Make these allergy gummies!
This dog treat is made with only three natural ingredients: gelatin, strawberries, and Pawtree salmon oil, a great way to support your dog’s immune system during allergy season and promote healthy skin and coat.
The Health Benefits Of Strawberries For Your Fur Friend
Strawberries are a healthy, low-calorie treat for your dog. They contain immune-boosting vitamins like Vitamin C, B-1, B-6 and K. They also have omega-3, which helps support coat health and is an antioxidant powerhouse, protecting the boy from damage caused by free radicals.
The Health Benefits Of Salmon Oil For Dogs
Pawtree salmon oil is made of a trio of fatty acids: Omega-3, 6 and 9. There are many benefits of salmon oil to your dog, including better brain function, improved joint flexibility, boosting immunity against diseases, and the anti-inflammatory properties reduce scratching, leaving a healthier coat. Fatty acids in salmon oil form a protective layer and act as a barrier to allergens and irritants.

How To Make Allergy Gummies For Dogs- Step By Step
These homemade dog treats are not only fun and tasty, but they are also healthy and support your dog’s immune system.
- Place silicone molds on a cookie sheet (this will make it easier to move to the fridge when you’re ready to freeze the gummies). I used a smaller heart mold and larger flower mold.
- Use a dropper to add a small drop of Pawtree salmon oil in each gummy mold. Each gummy mold should be only 1/4 filled. The amount you place will depend on the size of the silicone mold you use. The rest of the mold will be the strawberry mixture.
- Blend the strawberries in a blender or food processor until liquid. Do not add water.
- Optionally: strain the strawberry juice to remove seeds and pulp
- Pour liquid into a pot and sprinkle gelatin over the liquid. Lightly mix.
- Allow the mixture to harden for 3 minutes.
- Add the pot to the stove and heat over low heat for 3 minutes or until the mixture is fully liquid, stirring frequently.
- Use a dropper to add liquid into the silicone molds.
- Place gummies in the fridge to set for at least 4 hours.
- Remove from the mold and let your dog enjoy! Store extra in an airtight container in the freezer.

Serving Size
Pawtree recommends 1/2 teaspoon of salmon oil per 10 pounds of body weight daily. The number of allergy gummies you give your dog will depend on their weight and how many drops you place in each mold.
How To Store Allergy Gummies
These homemade treats will get messy as they come to room temperature. Place them immediately in an air-tight sealed glass storage container in the freezer. Remove and use as needed.
Tips For Making Allergy Gummies
Please always consult your veterinarian before giving your dog new foods, and to understand the cause of your dog’s allergies.
It’s recommended to add these allergy gummies to your dog’s meal. They will enjoy the meal-topper.
